Completed: Shells and Flowers Shrug
I started working on this project on 10th February, and had gone through two balls of yarn before discovering that that my size 8 hook was only 0.9mm — too small to produce anything near the correct size. (And to think, I’ve been using it since forever.) This will eventually end up as a shrug for Diana:

Last Sunday (15th February), I located VC Trading in Farmers Plaza and got a shiny orange-ish 3.0/5.0 hook. The salesgirl couldn’t tell me the size in mm, but when I used the 3.0 hook for the gauge swatch, I did get the right dimensions. I also bought 5 balls of Cannon Natural (cheaper than at Maning’s) and a tapestry needle.
After a week or so of feverish crocheting — seriously; I was running a temperature — I came up with a satisfactory wearable:

Now to repeat my success in other colors! Oh, and finish the Diana-sized shrug as well …
